Growing Overnight

I'm use to my 3 year old (4yrs old in 2wks) daughter growing. The doctors say that she will be tall & that the pain in her legs are growing pains. Now it's my boy. I know it sounds strange but I got use to him not growing. We stopped his ADHD medication on Thanksgiving Break 2010. By the summer 2011 he had put on 20 lbs and grew 2 inches (52lbs to 72lbs). We noticed that Thanksgiving 2011 that his size 8 jeans were a little short & tight in the waist. He moved up to a size 10.....:'( My mother inlaw tacked his new jeans (5 inches to long) it's a big difference between sizes 8 & 10. I noticed that he's been sleeping in and that I have to wake him up and of course eating like he has a bottomless pit (now weighs 74 lbs). The reason for this is that he wore those same jeans that was perfect in length last week & are now 2 1/2 inches too short. Now it's up to his Memaw to let them out. MY BOY IS GROWING!!!!! :-) :'( :-)

Are "To Do" lists good or bad?

I made my "To Do" list for this week. Looking at it I'm thinking is this good or bad? To see everything listed down that I have to remember and get done this week is long. I always make a list but it has been 3 weeks since I have made one because we were gone for the holidays. Last week was very stressful and I realize it had been because I wasn't making my lists and scheduling how I spend my time. Now that I got this list made I feel better to see it all layed out but at the same time I have this feeling "UGH" just looking at it. I'm praying this week goes a lot smoother than last week. Also, I'm really enjoying my "Money Saving Mom's Budget" book. I'm so happy my husband bought it for me. :)

Trying To Play Catch Up...

The holidays are over and I am playing catch up or at least trying. This week I have cleaned out the closets and drawers to make room for new Christmas clothes, Clipped/Categorized 3 weeks worth of coupon (still need to file), Boxed 2011 files, Set aside 2011 Tax Documents, & Read 2 books. Also did all my daily cleaning & Kayla's PreK work. I have been busy. Once I get things the way I like them maybe I'll be able to relax.

Today I got to do some couponing at Walmart & Target. I got 4 rolls of Duck Tape & 4pks of 5 BIC Mark-It Sharpie pens for FREE and then One A Day vitamins 60ct $2.99. Kayla got to experience her 1st coupon deal. She bought a Slushy drink & popcorn used a coupon which made the popcorn FREE. She said "Momma, I get money back too". I love it that she's already learning to save money. I'm hoping to make it seem fun enough that she will love just as much as I do.

It took me about 3 days but I finished it. I really enjoyed everything about this book. I love to find new ideas on how to better organize...LIFE. I tell everyone that I could spend all day in a container store just thinking of all the ways to use them.

Now I have started reading another book on ADHD. So far I like the direction its going. Most books regarding ADHD/ADD push medication but this book gives pro/cons to medications & what doctors really think about food additives & dyes being linked to ADHD/ADD. Out of all the books I have read on the subject this one is on my top 10 List, "Recognizing ADHD Symptoms in Children & Adults" By: Deborah Sobers.

Our Beach Adventure....

We decided yesterday that we would go to the

beach today. You never know what to expect with a

spare of the moment type of plan. Well this

one turned out great. On the long stretch of road that

takes you to the beach we got the privilege of seeing an 8-10 feet

alligator no more than 5 feet from the truck.....see picture below!

It's true.

Then after all the excitement we finally arrive at the beach. Kayla was scared at first because you have cross a wooden bridge to get onto the beach. She held my hand real tight and said "Momma I can do this". It was so sweet & very grown up. I knew how scared she is on wooden brides & stairs. She made her momma VERY proud. I did get a lot pictures of her running & playing on beach.

Preston was home from school shortly after we got home. He was "green" (good) at school which meant that he could play w/ his buddies after all his homework was done. After being gone 10 mins he says, "Mom I need an old shirt. We are going to play in the mud". Lol! I'm thankful they just played in water instead of mud.

While Preston was playing w/ his buddies, Kayla having quiet time, & Phil doing guy stuff (playing games) I decided to finish clipping my coupons. I cut eight inserts so now all I have to do is file three weeks worth of coupons. I didn't shop the deals today because we wanted today to relaxing but that didn't stop me from looking.

I love being on a schedule....

My family runs great when we have a schedule. When the schedule goes out the window then so do our brains. Everyone is irritable, sleepy, bored, starving, tv addicts (in our case iPad/iPod addicts), and lacking verbal skills. It's almost like we're zombies in a way except we don't eat each other. Lol! I'm so glad to be back home & somewhat getting back on schedule after being on Christmas vacation for 2 1/2 weeks. My goal is to get things running smoothly again by the end of the week. Just say a prayer for us to go through this adjustment of being back home rather quickly & for me to keep my sanity.

Wow! I can't believe it's been so long since I have made a blog post. I've been so busy with couponing, scrapbooking, freezer cooking, cleaning, organizing, & schooling with Kayla. Then trying to perfect our schedule & get everyone use to the new living environment since moving. I will later make post of my freezer cooking & my coupon deals. I'm loving staying busy and I don't feel worthless when I know I'm contributing to our budget by working 5+ hrs daily on saving us money. I'm also looking for to my Scrapbook Getaway & seeing my family again before Christmas. It will be a nice break for me but pray for my husband as he will be in charge of everything while I'm gone for a week.

Preston and Kayla's Swim Lessons

On Monday, the kids started their swim lessons. It has been going very well. They will continue for another week. Preston has move from the red wrist band to the yel low. Red- non swimmers, Yellow- swim up to so many feet then needs assistance, Green- Swim with no assistance but still need supervision. The first day it took Kayla 15 minutes to warm up to the Coach & other kids but after she was having a great time.

The First Week Of July

Wow, what a week! First, I got my new drivers license. Second, I signed the kids up for their swimming lessons. I thought it was going to be $45 ea but it was $45 together. Yea! Third, I signed myself up for a gym membership and then later signed up for strengthening & yoga classes. Fourth, I have been walking 3x a week and I'm up to 2 miles. Overall it has been a very exciting week and this next week is going to be even better.

It has been a great day with food, family & fireworks. It was hard celebrating without Phil & my family. After the food it was naptime then the kids got in the pool. Now its hard getting them in bed because of the fireworks going on outside.

The past couple of days it has been raining before lunch & not stopping until 6pm. Needless to say it puts a damper in our plans. The kids have been bored that it seems like they were in trouble all day. They pestered each other so much that I really hope there is NO RAIN in tomorrows forecast. I did manage to do some couponing today and I got some items for free. This makes the happy ending of the day.

I say, "FINALLY" my son is actually 9 yrs old. Why you ask, well I have a great answer. He had his 1st party June 4th at Jump Zone then his 2nd party June 26th at Meemaw & Peepaw's house. The day of both his parties and today he would tell me "But I'm the Birthday Boy". I am not sad that this day will soon be over and that my baby is 9 yrs old. I came to terms with it 4 weeks ago.

As my husband would say "It took 11 years" and finally after all this time I can call myself a "Florida Girl". It will be a week tomorrow since the kids & I have been in the sweet little town of Mims, Florida. The kids already have tan lines. Me on the other hand has been trying to get things organized & get the kids on a schedule. It's been hard & I'm praying I can get all of it accomplished without going insane.

-Gym Membership (b/c I will get my body back after having 2 kids & 4 surgeries)

We left for Florida on 6/1/09 to take Preston to spend
the summer with his Meemaw & Peepaw. After dropping
him off; Me, Kayla, & Nana spent a couple of days in
Orlando.

Their garden was so big. Kayla was enjoying
picking the tomatoes. For lunch we ate at my
favorite place, Dixie Crossroads.

Goodbyes are always so sad. We had to leave
to make it to the resort in Orlando....I had to
leave Preston. (I cried like a baby)

We had breakfast with some of the Disney Characters.
Kayla was terrified, she screamed & cried at everyone
of them except for Lilo.

He must have turn several shades of red in the matter of
seconds. He then turned to me & said, "I guess

We were leaving on Monday to take Preston to Florida to stay
the summer with my in-laws. He told us he wanted to go to
Jump Zone before he left. It was Kayla's 1st time & she
loved it after being there for awhile. Me & Phil even
got in there & jumped with her. Preston just took off once
he saw all his buddies from school. It was a great
family day out!!

Field Trip To Heifer Project

I had the opportunity to go with Preston on

his school field trip to the Heifer Project in Perryville, AR.

It was neat to learn about what they do for

other countries and for our own. It was a good

learning experience for both of us.

What we learned is that they send a pregnant heifer

to countries that are very poor. They teach the people

how to take care of them and then when the calf is born then

they have milk. Most sell the milk to put their kids

in school. I left there with the appreciation

of the simpliest things that we have.

When I asked him about it he said, "Momma, Do

you remember the chickens we use to have? Well,

I just don't want to get pecked again". I then

giggled very quietly.

they have helped and what exactly the

Heifer Project has done for them.

This year for Easter I made the kids their baskets. I picked up a few things
at Sam's & Target before I had my back surgery because I didn't
know if I would be able to get it afterwards. It turned out just wonderful.
Preston- bug toys, rocket ship book, notepad w/ markers, calculator, cotton candy, & bunny ears
Kayla- pjs, puppy book, two cars, cotton candy, & bunny ears.
Of course, Kayla just wanted to play with Preston stuff.

Then after church we all went to Nana & Papa's

house for some goodies.
They each got a chocolate egg with their name on

it and a little basket with some more goodies.

My In-laws came to help us for after my surgery. They arrived on March 7th and stayed through the 18th. It was such a blessing to have them here. The kids loved all the attention and especially being spoiled. We hated to see them leave.

Surgery Day Coming Soon!

I'm a little nervous but excited too. My back surgery is this Friday at Arkansas Surgery Hospital in Maumelle, AR. It's been a long past nine months of pain and therapy and now Dr. Cathey offers relief. What's amazing is that back surgery has come along way in the past couple of years. I will be able to return to work after 1 - 2 weeks but I won't be able to lift for about 5-6 weeks.
My Mom ( Jina) will be taking over my work while I'm recovering and tending to Dad. My Mom ( Carolyn) will be helping us Friday & Saturday. Mom & Pops (My In-laws) will be coming in on Saturday and staying until the 18th. I'm so blessed to have so many people willing to help me.

Hopefully by this time next week I'll be walking without any pain in my legs except for the one in my back because of course I just had surgery.....I'm not a complete idot!

Phil and I went to Preston's Valentine Party on Friday 13th. He was so excited to see both of us. It was kind of funny because Phil was the only dad there. We had ice cream & coke and watched Preston go through all his Valentine's from his classmates. Then the kids went outside to run off all that sugar they ate....and believe me they were all wired up. I was so excited that I got to go to his party and be around him and all his friends.

Kayla's One year birthday party. She wasn't aware of it until everyone showed up. We had lots of pizza & cake. Her cake was a big hit (I made it). It was yellow cake with cream cheese icing. It was awesome! She got lots of toys & bows and loved all of it. She also had a friend to play with, Sierra, which goes to Miss Bee's Daycare with her. I still can't believe she's a year old. I have realized that time goes by faster as you get older.

Preston finally got the ball!

Preston's first game was on January 10th. He plays in the Upward League for the Falcons. He's so funny when he plays. Since this is his first year playing he really has no idea what he is doing but he looks cute doing it. He growing up so fast and he'll ask me when his next game is or does he have practice tonight. I haven't been able to go to very many of his games so he comes home telling me all about the game and who won even though they don't take score.

Christmas with My Grandparents

We had Christmas Lunch with my grandparents who live in Sheridan. It had been since July 4th since we had seen them. It was amazing to see everyone including some of my aunts and cousins. My mother had so much fun playing on the floor with Preston and Kayla. We left their house very full and tired. Even though with us Christmas Day is a bunch of running around and leaving us very exhausted by that night....it is worth it!

This year even though we didn't have much under the tree it was as much of a blessing as when we had alot. It was Kayla's 1st Christmas and to see her play with the gifts and then the moment she realized what a present was she became so excited. I can remember Preston' s 1st Christmas and seeing how big he has gotten now had me in tears. Time really goes by fast. Preston loved all his presents especially his DS Lite. I think Kayla just loved the wrapping paper. Sugar & Bella each got a toy. We went to my parents house Christmas morning and that night. Our family traditions for the holiday is to go to Nana & Papa's house for Minnie & Mickie Mouse waffles and then open gifts. The kids had a great time and loved the presents they got. That evening we then went to Meme's house for dinner but by then we didn't have much of an appetite just tired.

Phil's Company Christmas Party was at his boss's house, Mr. Bradley. His house is so beautiful and his wife is an amazing decorator. Even though there was not many people there from his office it was very nice. We had a great time and everyone had a fit over Kayla. She was very fond of Mrs. Robyn and just sat in her lap most of the time. Preston had a lot of fun with Mr. Jason and taking pictures of everyone. Phil and I enjoyed having adult conversations for once.

As you can see Preston done some of the silliest things...crossing his eyes and sticking bunny ears on our new puppy, Bella in most of the pictures. It made it memorable!
